I have tried installing directly from device manager, directly off the CD, and through the downloaded driver off the website. Anybody else got ideas to fix it? Here are some details on how I done it:

You also need to have the motherboard drivers installed correctly.

Put in all the plugs in, and as you can see its working nicely, I also brought my self a nice 5. Ok here is something else you can try.
And are you using this? The AC97 drivers do not work either. Kunal, Aug 29, Are Audio, Video and Ethernet all included in the Nvidia driver?
Asus M2N-MX SE and Windows 7
Core, Aug 30, I changed a bios option and now it is all going well! Asus m2n-mx se sound I did a reformat and still the same problem. Does not show on device manager, and Windows does not find it.
No sound device installed on Windows 7!!! If you don’t have an account you can register now. The driver should be compatible with your board, but the Realtek site asus m2n-mx se sound others as well if this one doesn’t work. Thank you for your time. I will try and search more, but I thought I would ask aasus pros first: Anybody else got ideas to fix it?
Thanks for the reply Edit: The first two drivers are Windows 7-compatible. You haven’t logged in yet. I have been using Windows xp for many years and now, since xp will not be supported by Microsoft anymore, I decided to install Windows 7. You might even have to use the “Have Disk” option for this to work and browse to where your drivers CD is and the asus m2n-mx se sound file that is needed.

Look for any X’s. I think you are going to have find the driver for that ISA bridge.
Also did you try pressing F3 on the unknown device to see if the driver can be located for you?
